Reign: Series Finale “All it Cost Her...”

Mary: “I put my trust in you, my Lord.”

The Reign is officially over…
Join me in my humble review of the finale…

Reign: 4x15 “Blood in the Water”

Mary: "We are still family.  And what is family in this dark and bitter world, but a glimmer of light in the distance?"

The sound you’re hearing right now is me rolling my eyes….

I can not believe this was a penultimate episode….

Reign: 4x14 “A bride. A box. A body.”

Narcisse: “Everyone will pay… in their own way.”

Well, that was a good enough episode if we were somewhere in the middle of the road… but it was most certainly unacceptably weak now, when the end is nigh…

Reign: 4x13 “Coup de Grace”

Gideon: “Setting aside your personal feelings for the good of your country.”

When did Narcisse became the sane one?

Reign: 4x12 “The Shakedown”

Henry: “In my experience, I've found it best to wait for an advantage before I strike.”

Dear Lord, seems, like we'll be waiting for ever. Despite the ‘shakedowns’, both literal and metaphorical, we haven’t moved an inch….

Reign: 4x11 “Dead of Night”

Luc: “The soup is delicious. Such a medley of tastes.”

“That was bloody good; tense, unexpected, and interesting.” That was my first thought, when the episode ended. That and how much I’m going to miss Reign.

Reign: 4x10 “A Better Man”

“This is worse than I feared.”

Yep. I’m right there with you, Catherine! This was a waste of time in royal proportions! That doesn’t mean the hour was a total disaster, I did enjoy only about a third of it.

Reign: 4x09 “Pulling Strings”

Mary: “Fate's twists and turns may surprise you.”

Well, well… the wedding has finally happened and in the most beautiful fashion… heavenly gorgeous bride, drunk into oblivion groom… what’s not to love?

Reign: 4x08 “Uncharted Waters”

Lord Bothwell: “Darnley will be your undoing.”

Pirates and boat rides. Prophecies and desires of hearts. Treasures and all sorts of other sparks…. This was a useless, but very enjoyable hour. Read on.

Reign: 4x07 “Hanging Swords”

Catherine: “We all enjoy a vacation from reality… occasionally.”

I struggle to understand what this episode was about. Suddenly Reign traveled to fairy tale land and became even more unrealistic and… do we really have time for this?

Grimm: 6x13 “The End”

Eve: “Everything has a beginning and an end.”

Here it is, my last ever review of Grimm…..

Grimm: 6x12 “Zerstörer Shrugged”

Wu: “We're all doomed.”

Well, we are almost at the end of the road…

Reign: 4x06 “Love and Death”

Catherine: “My dear... watching someone you love share their body with another poisons the heart.”

Love and death always go hand in hand. That could be said about any episode of Reign, really. This one was no exception - some hearts found love, some where horribly crashed. Giving someone reign over your heart is the most marvelous thing that could happen; it might also be THE deadliest. I am going to review this episode by couples since it seems to be the only appropriate way.

Reign: 4x05 “Highland Games”

I won't deny you your happiness. I release you from this marriage.

I am not quite clear on what exactly this episode was about. For an hour called ‘Highland Games’ there were none that we saw, yet there were all other sorts of entertainment. Let’s recap.

Grimm: 6x11 “Where the Wild Things Were”

Wu: “I suppose this is how Alice felt falling down the rabbit hole.”

What the hell kind of hell was that?

Grimm: 6x10 “Blood Magic”

Monroe: “But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you, and loved the sorrows of your changing face.”

This was a wonderful installment. We still had a case of the week, but this time I didn’t mind, since it was a very beautiful and tragic story.

Grimm: 6x09 “Tree People”

Monroe: “So this mossy, muddy, leafy, rooty-arm description sounds like something out of an apocalyptic environmental nightmare.”

Wesen are Egyptian Gods. Wesen are aliens. Wesen are trees….

Reign: 4x04 “Playing with fire”

Catherine: “I've learned to never trust the beginning of a book.”

Weddings and resurrections; jealousy and rivalry; and a lot of fire – yep, that pretty much sums it up.

Grimm: 6x08 “The Son Also Rises”

Wu: “Might be the trouble with playing God.”

Well, this was confusing and boring with some scientifically gibberish dialogue.

Reign: 4x03 “Leaps of Faith”

Mary: “We all die, Gideon. Question is what we stood for while we lived.”

Wow, there were so many broken hearts in this one, I lost count. There were also few unexpected turns of events and I simply love it when I get surprised. More on that below…

Reign: 4x02 “A Grain of Deception”

James: “In an effort to take down your enemies, you run the risk of losing those you truly need.

We saw first few battles and I’m not quite sure who won, if anyone.

Grimm: 6x07 “Blind Love”

Wu: “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the heart, and therefore is lost to Cupid's mighty dart.”

This was Grimm's response to a Valentine’s Day. I think.

Reign: 4x01 “With friends like these”

Gideon: “The two of you are so consumed with each other, you didn't notice Knox in the corner, cheering you on to fight to the death.”

It has been almost eight months since the last season finale of Reign. Too long, if you ask me. However, from the first moments it felt as if it has just been yesterday. Here it is – the final journey of Mary, Queen of Scots begun.

Grimm: 6x06 “Breakfast in Bed”

Monroe: “Well, like the man said, life is a nightmare that prevents one from sleeping”.

While Nick and Hank were trying to solve the mystery of a locked room in a local hotel, Rosalee, Monroe and Eve solved the stick/cloth puzzle.  Simply put - another day in wesen infested Portland.

Reign: Before the final season…

Before diving into the final chapter of Mary’s story, I caught myself thinking: “What to expect?”. What, if anything, I, we, as viewers, should expect from this drama’s final run? Where do we see ourselves when finale’s come - in the throne room or on the scaffold?

p.s. this will be completely spoiler-free for those who have seen all three seasons; if you haven’t, come back later, the rest – read on.

Grimm: 6x05 “The Seven Year Itch”

Meisner: “I've heard the only way to battle your demons is to take a trip to their hell.”

I must say, this was more fun, than anything else.

Grimm: 6x04 “El Cuegle”

Monroe: “We live in a world full of, you know, people with shoes.”

Last week I asked – “What’s next?” Apparently (and logically) the next one must be a filler episode and it was. But it was a very good one.

Grimm: 6x03 “Oh Captain, My Captain”

“If I shoot you, is that considered suicide?”

This one was really good… if only….

Grimm: 6x02 “Trust me knot”

Monroe: “It's like some kind of weird symbol-filled equation-esque, kind of hieroglyphic-y, astrological cornucopia of something I've run out of words for.”

That is exactly how I feel about this episode. Nothing really happened. Well, lots happened, but at the end we were back to where we started. Still the journey, albeit convoluted, was rather fun.

Grimm: 6x01 “Fugitive”

Rosalee: “Oh, my God, this has to lead somewhere.”

I sure as hell hope, because this was catastrophic.
