Hank: “We're associating with some very
unsavory characters.”
Wow, what a convoluted, disjointed and inconsistent episode with a very
yak case of the week. I’m not entirely
sure I liked any of it.
It is getting difficult to track who knows what. Adalind, who never had a
single friend in a world, trusted Rosalee with her secret, and not aware that
she spilled it already to Nick. When she finds out, she will be furious. I’m
not thrilled to see this wall rising up, separating Adalind and Sean from the
rest of the team.
There was some amount of sharing between Adalind and Nick. She told him
about meeting with Sean. Not THE big secret, but at least something. In return Nick
told her they know Renard is working with Black Claw. This could come back and bite
him in the ass, if Adalind chooses to stay on the other side of the wall. Eve
sensed Rosalee and Monroe were in the tunnel and Adalind didn’t, so she is not
fully ‘hexebiested’ yet. That gives me hope.
What I also didn’t like was another heavy hint that Eve might not be
totally over Juliette. She still cares about Nick, enough to threaten Adalind.
So she is not the coldhearted and senseless robot she’s trying to appear. I
really really hope they aren’t getting back there, to Juliette and Nick, I
mean. Eve is so much more interesting, and I want Nick with Adalind. Pretty
please.
When Adalind dropped Kelly off at Spice Shop, there was something
dramatically final; like this is the last time she was seeing her son. I got
worried. Then, when Sean kidnapped her, I got really worried, but he did it so
she could meet Diana. Would Adalind be free to leave? Not physically, because
they obviously wouldn’t want to keep her there as prisoner, but they might
leave her no choice if she wants to be with Diana.
Let’s talk about Diana for a minute here, because I’m confused. Last we
saw her she was in the helicopter with Meisner, who later confirmed handing her
over to Resistance. Let’s assume Meisner and Resistance are on the same side
and the HR is on that same side as well. So, Diana must have been their
prisoner, or the ‘asset x3’ and Black Claw got her out. At least, that is what
I took from that heavily redacted files flashing on Eve’s screen.
What I don’t understand is why a girl, who is so powerful, didn’t escape?
Why is she continuing to a pawn in everyone else’s game? Or am I wrong? Is it
her game?
The case of the week was somewhat inconsistent and gross. The flat people,
liquefied bones and because there were no cliffs nearby, we had to witness
victims being run over by a truck, numerous times. Like the first one wasn’t
enough.
Monroe said Barbatus Ossifrage aren’t killers, they only
take the bones of mortally wounded. But as the case went along we learned that
Wu wasn’t mortally wounded, he hurt his head badly but he wasn’t dying. He was
fine. As any other victims would have been, had they been taken to ER on time.
So, technically it was murder. Also, according to Monroe, these creatures used to scavenge the
battle fields and prevent the spread of the diseases. But the diseases aren’t
spread through the bones; the flat flesh they leave behind is much more likely
to spread it, with or without bones. Oh, well.
The whole reasoning behind the murders (since I decided to call it that)
was son feeding his parents, who at the end ended up eating him. I couldn’t
believe it. I couldn’t believe Nick and Hank just stood by and did nothing. Like
I said, Yak!
Hank’s girlfriend is back. I’m not sure what to think about it yet. I
couldn’t help but feel Hank was cautious and nervous, not because he met again
the woman he fell for, but rather worried because she is Wesen. I was equally
suspicious of her. She felt really off. Like asking Hank about Nick and all, it
all was very strange. Their dinner date didn’t feel romantic at all. Bad vibes.
I’m ready to jump to the conclusion that she’s with Black Claw.
Wu’s transformations continue and he is keeping it quiet. In any other
case, that would be a smart thing to do. But when you know about Wesen and you’re
friends with Grimm, you go to him when you wake up with fur in your mouth and
turn into a dog-like something. You don’t keep that a secret, because chances
are next time it will be something human and not animal.
Some observations
Episode’s opening quote “The
evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones” is by William Shakespeare from Julius Caesar.
Kelly seemed very preoccupied the entire episode. Maybe he is worried
about his parents lying to each other, or perhaps he keeps flashing back to his
mom turning into beast.
Glad the dog got away from Wu, who definitely needs to work on his motion
coordination skills.
No Trubel. Again. It’s been awhile now.
Memorable Quotes:
Rosalee: “You
said if she did anything to Nick, you'd go after her.”
Eve: “You
have a problem with that?”
Rosalee: “It's
what I would have said... If I was Juliette.”
Wu: “I know
I've said, "This is a really weird one," before, but this is a really
weird one.”
Nick: “Is
there more than one piece?”
Wu: “No.”
Hank: “Bite
marks?”
Wu: “Not
that I could tell.”
Nick: “Is
there something missing?”
Wu: “Uh, I
believe there is. I don't think there's a bone left in this guy's body.”
Everyday’s work. LOL
Sol’s rating: just barely a 2.
