Rosalee: “She's got to be the one
to tell you, otherwise there won't be any trust at all.”
That seems to be a common theme lately. Trust. Or the lack of it. Or
rather the lack of communication. Everybody is talking, but to the wrong
people. The only one who is sharing is Eve, who is also spying on everybody,
which, I guess, makes it easier to know who to spill the next piece of
information.
She even warned Adalind that Black Claw will approach her. She also
threatened to kill her if something were to happen to Nick. Which makes me
think she isn’t that indifferent as she wants people to think. Hmmm….
Adalind keeping silence about her return to beast loses this game of
honesty. Nick warned by Rosalee doesn’t sleep any more. Can you blame him? But
apparently he isn’t concerned about Kelly at all. And he is still waiting for
Adalind to come to him. I hope she does, but the return of Diana might make it
difficult.
Diana is back and older, although not that older. I thought she’d be in
her 20s now. She still has her powers and that scary glowing light in her eyes
and apparently she was in the hands of Black Claw all this time. How did that
happen? Does that mean the Resistance joined forces with Black Claw? What would
Adalind say to a pending marriage proposal if that would be the only way for
her to be with her daughter? So many questions…..
Adalind is back to work at her old firm, where the law degree is not the
only prerequisite - you must be a Wesen and serve in that capacity as well. It
was scary watching Adalind turned full Hexenbiest, seeing Kelly smiling at her
Hexenbiest face was even scarier. Not sure how they will fit the lawyer angle,
I’m afraid we will see less of her, but at the same time, I’m happy to see this
gorgeous woman out of sweatpants.
Let’s talk about Wu. I like Wu. Considering his infection is supposed to
be genetic and affecting only Wesen and more specifically Blutbads, and since
he is neither of those things, we can safely assume he is not turning into that
wolf thing per se. However, his heightened sense of hearing, headaches and
blurry vision, plus dreams of roaming the woods at night and really roaming the
woods at night, all point to a wolf thingy. Yet he is suffering from these
whacky side effects for two weeks in a row now, so not full moon related, then?
I’m confused and worried and excited, all at the same time. We haven’t had a Wu
centric episode for a while now, and it seems like we are about to get one, and
they are always a lot of fun to watch, whether he is eating carpet or checking
himself into psychiatric ward, it is a
delight watching Reggie Lee working his magic with this character.
As for the case, once again it was very human and real with a Japanese
twist. The irony or rather a fact that is becoming inevitable – and I can’t
help but agree with Alex from last week’s Grey
Anatomy - you keep a gun in your house for protection, chances are, you
will end up getting hurt because of it. Or your children, who notice everything
and for whom there are no such things like hidden places or locked draws. A set
of unfortunate events led to the death of two young boys, second week in the
row the case is very sad. And they make me wonder, because of the wesen aspect
of it, how those cases were handled before Nick got his powers or are being
handled in the precincts that aren’t lucky to have Grimm as a detective?
Some observations
Episode’s opening quote
was by Samuel Johnson: “Revenge is the act of passion, vengeance is
an act of justice”
Door to the bathroom was a door to the wilderness
in Wu’s dream. There is a hell of a metaphor hidden somewhere her.
Monroe
and Rosalee went to explore the tunnel armed with only their respective Wesen
teeth. How smart was that? I would be happy to spend an entire episode with
them in the tunnel, but unfortunately it ended quickly and they didn’t find
much.
Sean isn’t sharing his agenda with others, yet he’s more than happy to
roll in the hay with Rachel and plan his future as a mayor. And now she gave
him his daughter back. I can physically feel us losing him.
The fluffy bunny-like Wesen had a very nice and
spacious basement with big windows. I wouldn’t call it basement at all.
In
case you didn’t know the Shanghai
Tunnels, less commonly known as the Portland Underground, are a group of passages running underneath
Old Town/Chinatown down to the central downtown section of Portland. The tunnels connected the basements
of many downtown buildings to the waterfront of the river to bring goods and
avoid traffic. The underground tunnels are reportedly haunted. Of course they
are, and Grimm is the show to explore
that.
Memorable Quotes:
Monroe: “Eve slept with Rachel?”
Nock: “She
wasn't Eve, she was the Captain, but Eve didn't know that Rachel was already
sleeping
with the Captain. So, she really had no choice but to go through with it by the
time things started getting personal.”
Rosalee: “Well,
I wonder what that was like.”
Nick: “I
didn't ask.”
