Grimm: 4x08 “Chupacabra”

“Cuide su rebaño, nunca deje su lado. Cuide su sangre, el Chupacabra tiene hambre”

Wu: “Cause of death in each one of these cases is what I would call Portland-esque, and by that, I mean it's weird.”

Even if you don’t speak Spanish, the word ‘chupacabra’ in the title is never a good sign. What did we learn from this one? If you are Wesen you should definitely cross off Dominican Republic from your vacation destinations list.

Let’s just say it one more time and out loud: They have epically screwed up the whole Sergeant Wu situation. Yes, it was entertaining to watch him entertain the idea of what might or might not be real, but only for awhile. Lately it’s come down to numerous and repetitive sarcastic one-sided repartees that were nowhere near fun to watch. In my humble opinion they have been dragging it out for way too long. The case involved seen-by-all sick wesen was a perfect opportunity to bring him in on a secret gently. But it was like a dozen of episodes too late. That rushed joke of an explanation they gave him in the middle of the road made him more confused than ever. So is he loosing it? Or are we gonna just write it off to ‘too much alcohol’?

Oh dear Juliette, you are a Hexenbiest now. I guess it is better for her to be a wesen, rather than having another pregnancy-plot. And it does give her more to do. As someone who is not a fan of Juliette’s I actually like this turn of events. It opens so many possibilities, like that whole blood-sharing thing with a Grimm. Come to think of it, Nick can take her powers away like he did once with Adalind. Unless they find some loophole to avoid that. We’ll see.

Nothing new happened in Austria. Victor and Adalind are still just talking about boring stuff that we already know about.

Resistance has finally caught up with the news that they are the ones ‘holding’ special child. The meet between Tavitian and Sean confirmed that Resistance is on the search of Diana as well. I wish everyone had just stopped talking about going to look for her and actually went looking for her.

I bet absolutely everybody knew Monroe and Rosalle will not be going on their honeymoon.

Some observations

Watching that poor doctor come back home I couldn’t help but notice how all the houses look alike – Monroe’s, Nick’s and this one. I understand there is only so much they can do with the set, but still.

Poor dog! Dog’s owner too.

I totally missed the number of the episode.

Now that Juliette is wesen, it makes Hank the only human with no supernatural attachment.

Is Juliette the first one who was turned Wesen rather than being born one. Do I remember it correctly?

Memorable Quotes:

Monroe: “How much are we gonna be wearing? I mean, this is a honeymoon.”

Nick: “According to this, the word "chupacabra" comes from the Spanish chupar, meaning "to suck", and cabra, meaning "goat."
Hank: “Goat sucker. We've had worse.”

Nick: “Did you get a description?”
Wu: “Oh, boy, did we get a description. Some kind of wild dog in clothes.”
