“I have but to swallow this, and be for the rest of my days persecuted by
a legion of goblins, all of my own creation. Humbug, I tell you; humbug!”
Monroe: “Ooh, it smells like a... Like a pungent, vinegarish, glandular, musky kind of, yeah, a chamber pot.”
This was a Christmas episode and quite frankly it was sort of meh… and it left me with some questions, all starting with “What was the point of….” – please, fill in the blank. Or don’t. That depends on your take on this episode. Let’s compare notes.

It is the Christmas episode,
so it is supposed to be light and joyful (though I question if there was anyone
who liked seeing Christmas decorations being trashed and Christmas tree
knocked down a couple of times). It is the episode where no one died or even
got seriously hurt (though that first victim might disagree). It was also the
episode where the bad Wesen turned out to be just bad behaving children on a
hormone spree. As far as the case of the week goes, this one certainly wasn’t the
worst, it was somewhat silly and funny… but still kind of meh….
What was the point of
bringing Josh back? At the beginning of the episode I got
a feeling that he might be a love interest for Trubel. Sometime in the middle
of it I got a suspicion that he is betraying them and is in fact in search of a
key and that showing him a trailer was an awfully bad idea (wouldn’t that be
awesome? Instead they went with a meh… option). By the end of the episode it got
clear he was a reason for her to move out. So off she goes. Meh… First of all, I
didn’t understand the need to get rid of her all of a sudden, even now when
Nick got his Grimm back. I love the interactions between her and Nick and her
and a group, so I’d prefer is she stayed. Was she leaving due to Wu’s
increased interest in her? Why wouldn’t they send her off to work for FBI? BTW, where that FBI
agent has gone?
Moving on...
What is the title supposed to mean? “The Grimm Who Stole Christmas” – Nick was nowhere near the ‘stealing Christmas’ part? Am I wrong? Did I watch a different episode or did I just miss the point completely?

No Adalind or Victor, nothing new with Wu except that his snarky
comments are starting to get repetitive and annoying.
So, Juliette is very likely pregnant. Do we need another baby? Why is she not happy? If she
conceived while being Adalind, what does that mean? Does it even matter?
There was a lot of build up for mid-season finale. That group of wesen
bikers looked dangerous especially when they put their masks on. There are also
quite few of them, so I’m guessing Monroe and Rosalee will have to put on hold
that whole romantic honeymoon.
Some observations
I did not catch the number
of the episode.
So, some members of the
holly inquisition were Wesen and were using their power to root out impurity within
the wesen society. Loved it.
Memorable Quotes
Josh: “Unbelievable.
Unbelievable that this is now believable.”
Josh: “How do you spell Schakal?”
Bud: “Uh, s... sch... Just like it sounds.”
Sol’s
rating: 2 out of 5, solely because I’m grateful that Monroe's excessively decorated house and front
lawn survived the invasion of goblins.
