“He had them brought before the court, and a judgment was handed down."
Wu: “I will do whatever I can to
help find Monroe,
but when this is over, I'm gonna need to have a more, you know, in-depth talk
about...”
Considering what happened to Juliette and Monroe in the previous episode I went into this one with high
expectations. I shouldn’t have. The episode was very slow and anticlimactic.
The mostly fruitless running around police work took a lot of screen
time. I thought Juliette and Rosalee spending time together will be
entertaining because of Juliette’s condition. But they didn’t go there. Partly
I understand, because this is something that needs to be addressed properly,
but them sitting at home and taking turns taking a nap was rather boring and also
took a lot of screen time. The only action we saw was Monroe trying to escape.
The parallel between Nazis and Wesenrein was clear as day what’s with
them trying to eradicate the impurity of their kind and all that. How very
unoriginal. We knew exactly what kind of torture and gruesome death might be in
store for Monroe, because we saw what they did to that poor guy Terry. All very scary, but ultimately
ineffective, because I’m 100% sure Monroe
will be fine, unless Silas is leaving the show. He is not.
The Sergeant Wu situation was surprisingly well handled in this one.
Thank God! His scenes were my favorite. Reggie Lee
is always good, but he was simply wonderful here, spending first half of the episode expecting to wake up
from a dream, walking that fine line where you sort of kind of believe what
you’re being told and at the same time sort of kind of don’t. You could see he was
looking at everyone thinking “is he/isn’t he?”, even suspecting Captain to be a
Wesen. That subtle certainty on top of disbelief was on his face throughout the
episode, and was totally fun to watch. I’m glad we finally got there.
Some observations
Opening credits have changed
again, this time they run longer and were a bit different.
Juliette turning Hexenbiest had interesting details. Why would all the
mirrors break? It’s not how it usually happens, right?
Show of hands – how many of you knew officer Acker was in on a
kidnapping? Everybody?
When Nick was threatening Shaw his skin turned pale again. For about two seconds he looked dead and then
returned to normal color. We haven’t seen that since beginning of season 3.
What’s up with that?
Memorable Quotes:
None whatsoever.
I had troubles finding something for opening quote.
