Nick: “Don’t go there”
Sean and his lady friend moved their campaign work into the bedroom. Also still not clear on this sub-plot, plus don’t feel any chemistry between these two.
So, you are a Grimm and you live in the world were Wesen and demons
exist; you have witnessed all sorts of supernatural events, your girlfriend was
brought back from the dead, yet a ritual to influence weather and summon the
rain that involved human sacrifices strictly aligned with the points of the
Plough is where you draw the line... Seriously, Nick?
That cool moment at the end when they were suddenly under the heavy rain
was the best part of the case. Seriously the imagery was beautifully done.
Aside from that, the only relevant thing was that the murders they were
investigating were somewhat connected to the Big Bad of the season. Boy, this
Black Claw is really getting into the minds of somewhat peaceful Wesen and
impressionable young men to turn them into their soldiers. Brainwashing at its
best.
Rosalee’s ex is now calling her. His persistence should have been a clue.
I mean, come on! When someone is trying so desperately to get in touch with,
the least you can do is not hang up. I’m still not sure where they are going
with this sub-plot, and still sort of don’t care, unless he turns out to be
that ‘messenger’ that Trubel picked out of the crowd on the footage. Now that
would be interesting.
My favorite parts of the episode usually take so little screen time, you
could miss them if you blink. Like Nick’s attempts to open that door in their
basement. The careful side of me was with Adalind. When something is that dead
shut, there is usually nothing good behind it. Like she said, there are things
that live a very long long life. The curious part of me was with Nick. If I had
a secret door in my basement, I probably would try to open it too. Emphasis on
‘try’. How great would it be for them to find something … well, something worth
finding. If it is something supernatural wouldn’t it be a coincidence that Nick
picked this building for his new home? If it is something not supernatural,
then what is the point? Well, maybe it’s some treasures of sort. I, personally
hope it’s the next big bad, because this Black Claw thing is taking me out of
my comfort Grimm zone.
The other nice moment was Nick and Adalind discussing the case, or rather
Adalind explaining Nick some ancient rituals, something about someone dying on
top of the pyramids… I was so distracted by the amazed look Nick gave her that
I don’t really remember what she said.
Nick and Co. are still deciding on
whether to embark on this Black Claw mission or stand by and let things work
themselves out. Only it’s not really a choice, is it? I’m not quite sure why
they are all so reluctant. Despite the fact that we know nothing about this
federal branch of government and its agenda, the innocent people are dying and
it still looks like a good fight. Why wouldn’t they want to participate,
considering things are happening in their own town?
Some observations
Episode’s opening quote was:
“Only you shall not eat the blood; you
shall pour it out on the earth like water”. It’s from Deuteronomy 12:16.
Eve’s torture tactics were quite effective and equally scary.
Her pink (ish) wig suits her far better than white one.
When did Trubel become so good with complex computer software?

Try typing Triskele in the search engine – there is a real page.
Rosalee speaks Middle Irish.
Memorable Quotes:
Hank: “Sir,
were 6x6x12 beams in your last order?”
Wade Williams’ character: “Yeah. I buy a lot of lumber. Something illegal about 6x6x12s?”
Hank: “Depends
on how you use them.”
LOL. That could pretty much be said about
anything.
Sol’s rating: not impressed with this one, but
not a total disaster – 2.5.
