“Cherish those who seek the truth but beware of those who find it”
Adalind: “If something happens to
you... I have Kelly, but I have no job, I have nowhere to live, no place to
raise him. I mean, what if he's like me? What if he's like you? What if he's
some weird combination of both of us... Like some kind of HexenGrimm or
Grimmabiest.”
Remember back when the series just started Captain Renard and Adalind
were working together to kill Nick’s aunt, while Nick was living his happily never
after, totally ignorant of his destiny? Now Sean is Nick's friend and
Adalind is the mother of his child and they are living together, eating
sandwiches and bragging about their cooking. Yeah, we came a long way!
The moving in part was done so shockingly seamlessly that it was a bit surprising. There was a certain awkwardness (how could there not be?), but it felt rather natural. Adalind
however raised an interesting point – what is their son? Is he part Grimm, part
Hexenbiest? Is he by some miracle simply just human and normal? Or maybe he is normal but with dormant Grimm powers? Time will tell....
I had to go back to my reviews, because I totally forgot that Adalind’s
powers were only suppressed; I thought they were gone for sure. It makes sense
that she is afraid of what she might become when the powers return and what those will
be exactly, considering none of them fully understood the side effects of that
spell they did. For Kelly’s and Nick’s sake I think it would be better is
she isn’t a Hexenbiest…. but then she would turn into ‘Juliette’ of sorts, only
with a baby. In order for it to truly work, I think she has to be a part of the
team. Who knows? Maybe she can be and she wouldn’t need to be supernatural for
that.
Monroe: “I'm talking about this house. Too many bad things have gone down here,
man. Too much death and destruction. I'm just sayin', you might want to think
about, you know, a change of venue.”
You think!?! Thank you for acknowledging what I’ve been saying for some
time now. It’s time to move the hell out and move
on. Selling the house however might take awhile, considering that all nearby neighbors were just killed. The place has such a bad karma it’d be
safer to just burn it to the ground.
Moving on…
I figured it out! Seriously! There is no secret government organization.
There is no underground prison. There is no conspiracy. There is just Meisner
and Co. organizing illegal fights in some basement. Whew!
Now, really, who did
he fight with? Was it torture or training? He was way too happy. I doubt he was
using Diana as a punching bag, unless she is now a grown woman and kicks ass. I would love to see that.
The case of the week was rather dull and horrifying - that kill was
vicious, even for Grimm standards. The unusual part was Hank trying to
solve a Wesen related homicide with a clueless partner. Also there was a
lesson, mainly for Captain Renard – you do not take Grimm off the case. People
die. Horribly. Bad Captain, no biscuit!
There was one interesting aspect of this case - it being related to the overall arc of the season. Even though the killer was just after money, and he’s been doing it for a
long time, he was living the
same mark which proves that he and his accomplice were a part of a this new big threat. Maybe they were stealing all these funds to finance this group. Plus, there were way too many computers, that was a whole
lot of operation going on. Lots and lots of files: there was a newspaper
article “Two men killed in NW Portland”
and the picture of Sean taking at the press conference in season four finale. That
was all I could catch, but this was very specific.
Some observations
So, Juliette slept with Sean and Nick. Adalind slept with Sean, Hank and
Nick. Sean and Adalind have a daughter together. Nick and Adalind have a son
together. What an incestuous mess!
Last time Nick took Adalind’s powers by mixing his blood with hers –
could it work a second time?
Monroe and Rosalee are going out of their way to help Nick, including buying
all the necessary baby stuff and preparing the house, but shopping for Adalind,
that was a bit over the top.
Adalind is allergic to raw tomatoes. Is that even a thing?
I bet Nick regrets storming into Chavez’s office, because right now he
sure looks like FBI’s main suspect in her disappearance.
Sean is once again missing all the fun and action. I know he is the
captain, but still.
The number of the episode was on the door of the apartment where the
killer was hiding.
Memorable Quotes:
Monroe: “I think we should probably get
out of here before someone tries to like paint over us.”
Hank: “This
job is hard enough. It's even harder when you know what's going on and you
can't do a damn thing about it.”
Sol’s rating: so far I like where this season
is going, so 4 out of 5
