Francis: “I've learned there are
unintended consequences for our actions, where we end up harming those we swore
to protect.”
So it begins.
The country is being torn apart, the persecution of Protestants started with maiming and torturing those who have declared their faith and even those who have lied about it. The episode was filled with torture and anguish and it was hard to watch. Not as hard though as seeing Francis realizing what he has done, fully aware that he probably couldn’t do anything differently. The despair on his face was excruciating. Good acting there, Mr. Regbo.
Now, lets talk about Catherine, who seems to have giving up all the state affairs, right when her son needed her and dived right into her melancholic guilty voyage of the past. They have totally went off the history course here. The twin girls in Reign reality are Henriette and Emone, they both survived birth and were well and healthy until full on jealousy Claude has murdered them. Wow, I did not see it coming.

Claude has the audacity to demand
her mother’s love after what she’s done! Does she not remember? She was old enough. And she wasn’t sent away right after. She stayed at court long enough, because she was of old enough age to have sex with
Bash. So, what were the reasons of sending her away?
I have a hard time understanding the exact nature of those girl. Are
they really ghosts? Claude’s return to home might have triggered all those painful
memories, and that would have been a perfect explanation, except Catherine
started seeing girls long before Clause arrived. So is Catherine imagining
them? She said she could only picture them up the age of eight that how old the
ghost girls are. I'd rather them being ghosts, than have Catherine loose her mind.
Let’s move on to our flirty feisty couple, or is it not anymore? Did
Narcisse and Lola broke up before they even got together? Is it over? I
certainly don’t want it to be. Their horse riding escapade was way to much fun
to have them stop here. Narcisse was genuinely hurt by Lola’s betrayal, which
makes me think there were some true feelings on his part. We’ll see.
Some observations
Lola’s
picking mushrooms – is that a hobby?
I know I’ve
said it before - Ashford Castle is simply stunning.

Catherine: "The only people in bed past noon are drunks and reprobates."

rating: A painful, but necessary chapter. 3 out of 5.
