“He felt now that he was not simply close to her, but that he did not
know where he ended and she began”
Some observations
Sean: “What the hell is going on?”
Yeah, let’s start with that! For a review of an episode where words and
numbers and objects were shuffling around it is only appropriate to start at
the end.
What the heck is going on with Sean? Why his wounds open and close on
their own? The only explanation I can come up with is that, because he was
healed magically, there are might also be some side effects. Or his mother is
dead and the magic has reversed itself. I hope not. We haven’t seen Elizabeth nearly enough
to say good bye.
To my surprise Sean himself wasn’t that much of a help to Juliette, instead he
referred her to yet another mysterious woman from his past. Henrietta looks like
she’s about forty, but you can bet she's like a couple of hundred years old. Maybe not hundred, but surely much older than forty. She
has to be. After all, she was helping Sean’s mother, when he was still very
young. But then again, you never know with the witches. I’m just assuming she
is one.
It will be interesting to see what Henrietta has in store for Juliette.
Sean specifically said she will be asked to do certain things. I hope it’s not
what Adalind had to do. To have to watch that horrific process once was more
than enough.
I understand Juliette not wanting to tell Nick about her Hexenbiest problem. Actually, scratch that. I
don’t. She can’t really believe he would chop her head off! She has to know he
would help her, or she doesn’t know Nick at all. I mean, who else is that
uniquely qualified in all things Wesen? In any case I hope this secrecy will be
over soon, or Nick starts suspecting her of having an affair with the captain. Again.
The case of the week wasn’t that much exciting. Good old case of adultery turned double
homicide with a wesen twist. The beginning was like a
typical horror movie with kids looking for something supernatural and
finding it for the first time. Unfortunately for them a ghost turned out to be a mad, hallucinating wesen slash bolt of lighting, which was obvious from the
get go. Had it been a ghost, that poor guy might still be alive. I also got a
feeling very early on that the guy who died was a lover not a husband.
But let's finish on a happy note. Considering things were picked up right where they were left off in the previous episode, Nick
and Hank didn’t go all the way to honeymoon location. Which is good, because
otherwise – awkward! I assume they simply escorted the happy couple safely to
the plane. Speaking of that honeymoon in paradise, why on earth would Monroe and Rosalee want
to come back to gruesome Portland?
Then again paradise where nothing happens might get boring pretty fast. Anyway, Monroe and Rosalee definitely deserve to be left alone for awhile, especially
after what they’ve been through.
Some observations
The real estate agent selling the haunted house was officer Acker’s sister.
Nice continuity from previous episode.
And another one from way back when Wu was eating his carpet. His reaction
was hilarious. Not only he is still learning about Wesen but also about how
they affected his life back when he knew nothing of this world.
Sean reacting to Hexenbiesting Juliette was a hoot. Can’t wait to see
Nick’s reaction.
Loved how Nick hasn’t questioned Juliette once. He feels something is
going on but is respectfully waiting for her to come to him. Seems to me
he trusts her way more, than she trusts him.
Nice magic trick with Henrietta contact information turning gibberish.
Is it me or the inside of the trailer doesn’t match the outside
dimensions. The interior is definitely bigger than it was before.
No number of the episode, I checked. It’s third in a row, isn’t it?
But,
upon second viewing I got this: 114 – last digits in Henrietta’s phone number.
Judging how numbers and words related to her tend to dance around, it’s safe to
assume that is the hidden number of this episode. I choose to believe that.
Memorable Quotes:
Hank: “Wesen.”
Wu: “You
sure?”
Hank: “Pretty
sure. When they get all freaked out and try to get away, that's usually what it
means.”
Wu: “Gotcha.”
Hank: “Makes
sense, after everything Adalind's done to the both of you.”
Nick: “Yeah.
To all of us.”
Wu: “Not to
me.”
Hank: “Hmm.
You ate her cookie.”
Wu: “I did?”
Nick: “Yeah.
That's why you ate your carpet.”
Wu: “Oh.”
Nick: “What
kind of Wesen are we dealing with?”
Lily: “A
Matanga Zumbido.”
Wu: “I told
you. It was a Mata-something. I was close.”
Sol’s
rating 3 out of 5.
