"Come back in the evening, I’ll have the door
locked to keep out the wild
huntsmen.”

“Will you... Marry me?”
Now, this is more like it.
Definitely an improvement after last week’s glitch.
There were obvious parallels
between the Wesen of the week and Native Americans. The motivation of the
killer is however still not clear. He goes from state to state picking up
fights with men in uniform, because in his mind the uniform is a sign of them
being heroes and he considers them worthy, then he kills them and scalps them. He is looking for heroes, but
at the same time he doesn’t play fair. We saw that he was no match to that
marine in his human form. It is only after he woged he was able to kill. So, what's up with him and his big coat made of human scalps? Is he
an assassin? Is he a deranged serial
killer with vendetta against military and law enforcement? We were told that scalps could serve as confirmation of a kill to
get payment? But his victims seemed so random…. I guess we’ll see
later since it was a part 1.
Let’s move on to more
pleasant parts of the episode - Monroe and Rosalee.
Here they were all dressed up, in an expensive
restaurant drinking expensive wine and sharing stories of ‘their first time’ ….
first time they woged, of course! Both were with family members when it happened, though it might have
been easier for Monroe,
because I’m pretty sure his mother wasn’t making fun of him, like Rosalee’s
brother did. I wonder how old they were when it first happened? Did we ever get
an explanation why or how the transformation is triggered?
Anyway, I
think Rosalee suspected there might be a proposal on the way, she even asked
straight out if they were celebrating something. And then much later, when she
probably thought he wouldn’t do it, he popped the question in a very
Monroe-like style. And Rosalee said 'yes'. How could anyone say ‘no’ to that?
Last week we met Rosalee’s
family, this week it is Monroe’s
folks turn. And what a difference they make. Rosalee’s mom and sister were very
angry but all their anger was directed at Rosalee not ever being home and not
attending her dad’s funeral. They seem to not to care at all about her dating a
Blutbad, whereas Monroe’s mom and dad couldn’t be more against it. Being
old-fashioned they can’t see it working. Apparently there is a big “no-no” for Blutbaden
to be living with a Fuchbau. Even though, as his dad said, they are breaking
the natural law, they didn't give any tangible reasons.
Only some bid dose of bigotry. Just because it didn’t work for others before,
it doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work ever. Of course I can
understand the parents as well, because all of it happened very sudden. Some heads-up might have saved
the situation. Monroe
could have told his parents about his living arrangements with his future wife,
and mention about her being a Fuchsbau. Not all at once, to give them time
to come to terms with it. Partly he is right, he is an adult and it is not
really their business, but then again it was not very adult behavior him not
telling them, because he was very obviously just avoiding the difficult situation. Unfortunately the bad night has
only started for our favorite Blutbad. Just when Rosalee stormed out of the door, a
Grimm came in. Poor parents, not only their favorite son is marrying a Fuchbau,
he is also friends with Grimm of all people.
We were left with a cliffhanger… sort of, I’m sure everyone will be fine,
but that will be a fun-fun scene to watch. Can’t wait.
Some observations
I’m always
impressed at how real the morphing process looks. Not so much when characters
are fully woged, but when it’s still a human face with some visible changes,
like Monroe’s father
in this one.
Why would
Juliette want to communicate with Nick’s mom on her own? She didn’t even met
her? Was that to avoid red flags? Like there is anyone left there who doesn’t
know Juliette’s living with a Grimm.
So
mama-Grimm couldn’t reach the famous island to destroy the coins. That can’t be
good.
That castle
in Vienna is
simply stunning! I know I said it before, but it really is.
Is it me or
Victor is now speaking with more distinct accent [German I presume] than
before?
Just when I
thought tat Adalind’s pregnancy just can’t get any creepier.
Monroe has a Blutbad-bottle opener. Of
course he does.
Monroe's parents reaction to Rosalee has exactly mirrored the reaction of mama-Grimm when she learned her son is friends with Wesen. Children are braking all the canons.
Rosalee and
Monroe are planning a spring wedding. How much you’d like to bet that will be
season finale?
And sicko-killer stayed in room 312.
Memorable Quotes:
Victor: “The
Resistance is solidifying, and that's distressing... And probably the reason Sean
Renard was here. Awfully annoying you didn't kill him when you had the chance.”
Gregor: “Sir,
I take full responsibility for that failure.”
Victor: “No
need to take responsibility, Gregor. I have bestowed it upon you.”
Monroe: “My dad's very... Kind of old-fashioned.
Sort of on the blunt side. Some people are charmed, others are alarmed.”
Rosalee: “Okay,
so when am I gonna meet them?”
Monroe: “Oh, there's no hurry. And by
"no hurry" I mean the later, the better.”
Rosalee: “I'm
sorry. I'm stressing.”
Monroe: “Look, a little stress is to be
expected when you meet parents for the first time. I mean, they're my parents and
I'm a little stressed.”
Nick: “We
got samples that match our two victims plus... get this... 27 other unrelated
samples.
Hank: “27
others? We thinking Wesen yet?”
Nick: “I'm
ready to go there.”
